Improving Traffic Flow on the Main Roads in and out of Kingwood

Lake Houston/Kingwood Area Mobility Study Recommendations:

Priority 1 – Intersection Improvements

Priority 2 – Widening of North Park Drive to 6-Lanes from US 59 to Woodland Hills Drive

Priority 3 – Grade separation on North Park Drive at Loop 494/Railroad Crossing

Priority 4 – Extension and widening of Woodland Hills Drive to Hamblen Road and Widening of HamblenRoad to US 59

Priority 5 – Widening of Kingwood Drive to 6-Lanes from US 59 to Woodland Hills Drive

Priority 6 – Grade separation on Kingwood Drive at Loop 494/Railroad Crossing

Proposal:

Implement the recommendations of the Lake Houston/Kingwood Area Mobility Study.

Why this is important:

The growth experienced by the Kingwood Area has resulted in significant traffic congestion on Kingwood Drive and North Park Drive going in and out of Kingwood.

Kingwood residents are experiencing more and more delays as they travel around the Kingwood Area and as they travel in and out of Kingwood going to their places of employment and returning home.

Additional developments are being built that will only increase traffic congestion in Kingwood.
